CHINESE TRUCK PARTS….
In an ever increasing competitive market you may have noticed a lot of chinese product entering the country and the truck parts industry is not exempt from this issue.
You will find nearly all the truck replacement parts shops are selling chinese products, they all attend the chinese exhibition shows in china,
I have worked in this industry for over 30 years, both in the OE dealer network as well as the “aftermarket” truck parts.
25 years ago the industry relied heavily on Taiwanese truck parts , Taiwan had a quality problem and Taiwanese products had a bad name in the industry for many years. Well to their credit they have improved over time, and the not so reputable manufacturers have been weeded out.
Unfortunately these days its China ,mainland China, and this has changed the whole industry and peoples thoughts, there is a lot of chinese product that really should have been thrown straight in the recycle bin after being manufactured. However the mentality is now the general truck driver or workshop who want top quality product at chinese prices, this just want happen,7-10 years ago a clutch booster was $700-$900 OE and a Taiwan for around $350-$450 mark and a kit $120-$180
Now you can buy a chinese booster for around the $130.00 mark,
and a kit, well we have not sold a kit in over 5 years due to the new unit being a throw away unit.
Consumers must decide on price or quality, we at Brett’s Truck Parts do our best to give you the benefit of both, this is and can be a very fine line, however we are still learning about new items , products daily so this is a forever ongoing process
